The Globe Cocktail
This is the signature cocktail from Globe, a restaurant and bar living in the shadow of the Transamerica building in San Francisco’s financial district. Like The Pony Up cocktail, it is another clever combination of flavor harmony mixed up by John Pringle and his compatriots behind the diminutive bar at Globe. This is a sophisticated alternative to a mojito for those that either don’t like rum or enjoy gin more. In fact, I think any mojito drinker will find this a real treat.

The Globe Cocktail
Recipe:
1 sprig of mint
2 ounces 209 Gin
1 ounce St. Germaine
1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
1/2 ounce simple syrup
Method:
Muddle the mint with the lime juice in the base of a cocktail shaker. Add the gin, St. Germaine and simple syrup and shape vigorously to combine. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass, garnish with a whole leaf of mint and serve.
I enjoyed this cocktail very much and encourage you to try it at home or the next time you are in the hands of a caring bartender. If you do, let us know what you think.
Do you know a bartender with a great signature drink? If so, and they are willing to share, let us know. Cheers!
