Cocktail Menu – Teardrop Lounge Portland, Oregon

Here is the cocktail menu for the Teardrop Lounge in Portland, Oregon. This is an establishment that presents themselves squarely in the historical lineage of great mixology.  Their bar menu showcases three pages of cocktails that are cleverly separated into house cocktails, classic cocktails and cocktails created by what they call “Friends,” other bartenders from around the United States.

The house cocktails are all named after pop culture references like the Star Wars referenced Kessel Run Highball and the I Love Lucy inspired Babaloo.  Page two is a list of classic cocktails that cleverly credits the creator of each cocktail, where they worked, the book they may have written on the subject and in what year.

However, I really love what they do on page three.  Titled simply “Friends,” it is a list of ten cocktails created by bartenders from Seattle to Miami and also lists the establishments where these professionals ply their trade.  This is a nice insight into the world of mixologists where great bartenders are the biggest fans of great bartenders.  It is here that the Teardrop shares the greatness they have found elsewhere.  I really love this and think it is a real nice touch.

Carefully read through this one. These folks know what they are doing.
