This is the second article in our seven part series: State of Drink: Portland, Oregon.  We hope you enjoy.  Cheers!

Great cocktails, like great art, are often created after long planning and careful consideration.  Sometimes, however, either can occur in the briefest moment finding inspiration in a song, an emotion or even a muse.  Bartender Shannan Shute of Clyde Common in Portland, Oregon found inspiration for the following custom cocktail recipe from the customer she made this off menu offering for.  Los Angeles based artist Josh Stone was impressed with Shute and asked her to create a custom cocktail  recipe for him based on tequila.  Dubbed the Beverly Shore,  it is based on El Tesoro Silver Tequila, Dolin Blanc, Peychaud and orange bitters.  It is a simple a drink whose great flavor is art itself.
